Due to her fight with multiple sclerosis, actor Selma Blair will leave Dancing With The Stars in the middle of the season. Four weeks into the competition, the announcement was made in a pre-recorded section on Monday’s broadcast.
Sasha Farber and Blair, both 50, danced a final waltz to the tune of “What the World Needs Now is Love.”
This dance is for everyone who has tried and wished they could do more, but it’s also about the strength of knowing when to give up, she said. I’m able to perform one final delicate dance, and I’m so, so appreciative.
Actress Blair stated that she had been diagnosed with MS in 2018 after appearing in Legally Blonde and other high-profile films. In the episode from Monday, she told Farber that her medical staff had been monitoring her throughout the competition.
“I received MRIs, and the results showed that I can’t continue with the competition,” she allegedly said. ” I’ve given it everything I’ve got. When you have a chronic ailment, you need to take extra precautions, and my body has paid the price. It’s just too much for the security of my bones. I could potentially do a lot of harm, and I obviously don’t want that.
