A new high-end members-only club has just opened in the City of Angels.
Launched by fitness and lifestyle company RSG Group, which also owns Gold’s Gym, Heimat is a first-of-its-kind fitness and wellness concept where you can work, play, eat and hang out. It spans a massive 75,000 square meters spread over five floors and offers members everything from fitness classes and coworking space, as well as a spa, rooftop pool and a restaurant run by Michelin-starred chef Michael Mina. The club is located in an industrial building from the 1930s located in the Hollywood media district that has been renovated and decorated with eye-catching graffiti by artist Mr. Brainwash.
Two design firms were used to transform Heimat into a versatile conceptual space. Germany-based design studio Inco focused on floors one to three catering to all your fitness needs, while the renowned Martin Brudnizki Design Studio worked on floors four and five which house the club dining and ‘Clubhouse’ areas.

The materials used — including marble, wood and custom forged metal — were chosen to create a balance of high design and industrial edge. The space is populated with antique furniture, colorful wallpaper and wooden panelling. RSG Group even commissioned murals from other emerging artists, including Alberto Macias and Jessalyn Brooks, to evoke the free-spirited nature of LA in the space.
Upon arrival, the club’s “Living Room”—reminiscent of a lofty residence with a check-in station, juice bar, and comfy couches—will welcome you. Upon check-in, a discreet entrance will lead you to the 7,000 square foot free weight training room or a range of spaces for group classes or a cycling studio.

On the second floor, you’ll find a boutique spa equipped with luxurious changing rooms that boast custom brass fixtures and handcrafted wood paneling. There is also a gender neutral relaxation room on this floor. On the floor above there are Pilates and Kinesis studios. The latter is equipped by Technogym with Kinesis One equipment, while the pilates area features Elina reformers specially designed for Heimat. There is also a yoga studio on the third floor that will offer heated and unheated classes
Mother Tongue, the fitness club’s signature restaurant, is located on the fourth floor and is helmed by acclaimed chef Michael Mina. Brudnizki’s team designed an indoor-outdoor space for 150 guests. Heimat’s pool and jacuzzi, lined with sun loungers and cabanas, are located on the fourth floor next to the terrace. Clubhouse, an all-day co-working space, is another of Heimat’s offerings and is located on the fifth floor. The library is located next to the space that you can use for meetings and events. Elsewhere, a private dining room completes Heimat’s offering.

“We created Heimat to disrupt what people thought a fitness club could be. While most gyms connect with their members by preaching sacrifice and discipline to achieve their goals, Heimat takes a more holistic approach,” said Sebastian Schoepe, president and CEO of RSG Group North America in a statement.
You must be 21 or older to join the club. Its all-access membership will set you back $350 per month.
