TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW) — The Town of Tonawanda Aquatic and Fitness Center will be completely closed from August 8th to September 5th for major renovations.
“During this time we will be draining the pool and replacing our filters, then filling the pool, completely redoing the gym: tearing down our old locker rooms and installing turf and rubber floors and addressing all transition points, installing new steam room doors, replacing pool light bulbs and a new gender neutral bathroom in the gym area,” the announcement states.
The following information was for those with a membership:
- All AFC members who have paid in full will receive a one-month extension on their membership expiration date.
- All AFC members paying monthly (EFT or credit card) will not be billed for the month of August. There will be no extensions.
- ALL AFC MEMBERS will have free access to the City of Tonawanda’s outdoor pools (Lincoln Pool, Kenmore Pool and Mang Wading Pool) during the AFC shutdown (beginning August 8th – the end of the extended open pool schedule). Email Justin regarding outdoor pool information, jmoser@tonawanda.ny.us
