Jules Rodriguez lost his voice in October last year. His speech has worsened from the diagnosis of Amyotroph side sclerosis (ALS) in 2020. years, but a tracheostomy to help him breathe the final blow.
Rodriguez and his wife Maria Fernandez, who live in Miami, thought he would never hear his voice again. Then they re-created it using AI. Once the old recordings of Rodriguez’s voice in the tool trained voices from film, television, television, radio and podcast, the couple could generate a voice clone – a way to communicate Jules in its “old voice”.
Rodriguez is one of over a thousand people with talks of speech who cloned their votes using free software from the eleven. And voice clones are not perfect.
