The PATH Recreation and Fitness Center will host a grand opening for its new facility July 29-30.
Located at 19002 Crossroad Parkway, the new center will open its doors to the community to view the new construction, which includes two full-size multi-sport courts with basketball, volleyball and pickleball lanes, batting cages, a multi-sport simulator and a activities.
The celebrations will last both days from 22:00 to 16:00. Attendees can try a variety of different sports as well as fitness classes.
“Grand opening activities will provide visitors with a sampling of the many programs that will be offered at PRFC,” said Director of the new facility Tracie Massey. “We’ve asked lots of kids and adults to share their activity ‘wish lists’ and we’re looking forward to putting together a schedule that offers something for everyone.”
Activities held at the PATH Recreation & Fitness Center can be enjoyed by purchasing a day pass, enrolling in a specific program or activity, or paying a monthly or annual membership fee.
For those unable to pay, need-based scholarships or free passes will be available.
During the celebration, there will be a raffle for a free year of membership, multi-sport simulator time, free personal training and other recreation center activities. Membership promotions and gifts will be available to all participants.
“The huge space in the new recreation center will allow us to serve more kids in some of our most popular youth programs, like tumbling and taekwondo,” continued Massey. “We will also be able to expand our PE program for homeschoolers and offer children a wider variety of activities.”
The new center is part of the Culpeper Wellness Foundation, which also operates the Powell Wellness Center and the Culpeper Free Clinic.
The new center is located near a fully equipped fitness center that opened earlier this year. The fitness center runs an extensive schedule that includes group exercise classes, youth fitness classes, yoga, meditation, small group training and personal training.
