Finalists have been announced for the PEI Women Entrepreneurs Business Pitch Competition


CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI — The PEI Business Women’s Association (PEIBWA) has selected six female entrepreneurs as finalists for its pitch competition.

Sensational Summer PitchFest, launched in May, is a competition for women entrepreneurs from all over the island who want to raise their capital.

The six finalists include Simonne Cormier of Au Naturel Solutions Inc, Josee Gallant-Gordon of Elm Grove Centre, Sarah Bennetto O’Brien of Handpie Company, Debbie Brady of Oyster Art, Jenna Shinn and Neally Currie of Sol Paddle Tavern and Rachael Sonola of Sonola Sweets.

Six finalists will receive one-on-one training from industry exporters before participating in a live competition for a chance to win $15,000, PEIBWA said in a press release.

The prize money will be used to grow and expand the business.

The competition will be held in Charlottetown on July 27, where one company will be announced as the winner of the festival.
